One aspect that could be a downside is that it’s very loud and noisy when heavy rain drops come in contact with it. You may find the constant sound of what seems like your roof being hit quite annoying too. If heavy objects like hail or falling solid items hit the metal roofing, you can certainly find dents and scratches that may degrade the look of your roof.

Metal roofing prices are per square foot, depending on the kind of metal. Degradation or deterioration differs by the type of material chosen.

4. Green Roofs

Green roofs make houses look lively because of their color initially. They have a unique, nature-embracing aesthetic. It is covered with flora so that it can improve air quality, lessen flooding and insulate homes to reduce heat generated inside or outside the house.

Green roofs could be a handful when it comes to maintenance.  They need thermal insulation, a vapor barrier, waterproofing, drainage, water filtration, gardening materials, plants and extra structural support like beams and foundations. The lifespan of green roofs can last in about 30-40 years or so.
